Halloween Gifts & Decorations 2026
The pumpkins are appearing, the big jumpers are coming out, and buying a bag of Halloween gifts and sweets “for the children” has become a weekly occurrence. We know how it goes.
Halloween 2026 falls on a Saturday, giving us a lovely excuse to make an evening of it.
Here at GIFT+HOME Altrincham, we love finding things that make these occasions feel special. Think a pumpkin-coloured Miffy, a game with a ghost at its centre and a few cosy additions you can enjoy throughout autumn.
So grab a brew and get comfortable! Here are our ideas for bringing a little Halloween fun into your home this October.
Bring in the pumpkin colour with Miffy
Our Miffy Corduroy Pumpkin 23cm is an excellent place to start. That gorgeous orange colour practically belongs beside a pile of autumn leaves.

With her familiar ears, simple little face and textured corduroy fabric, she brings a cheerful splash of colour to a bookshelf, bedroom or favourite armchair. She also makes a lovely seasonal gift for a Miffy fan whose collection has somehow taken over an entire shelf. There is usually room for one more.
For a gentle Halloween display, try sitting her beside a stack of books and a couple of small pumpkins. Keep the colours warm and simple, and let those unmistakable bunny ears do their thing.
And once October is over, she can stay exactly where she is. Orange looks lovely in November, too.
Get everyone round the table for Ghost Blitz
There is always someone who says they are “just watching” when a game comes out. Give it ten minutes.
Ghost Blitz is a particularly fitting choice for Halloween, with a little white ghost among its five wooden playing pieces. The others are a chair, book, mouse and bottle, so even the cast of characters is wonderfully odd.

This is a game of observation and quick reactions, using cards and objects to keep everyone concentrating. You will need to spot what matters before another player gets there first. Suddenly, the quietest person at the table might become VERY competitive.
Bring it out after food, while everyone is still together and before the evening disappears into doomscrolling. A few rounds would also make a fun break between pumpkin carving and putting a film on.
For someone hosting a Halloween gathering, it makes a thoughtful present you can enjoy together. Take it along with some snacks and you have contributed rather more than another bag of sweets.
Although we would still welcome the sweets…
Add a candle to your autumn evening
There is something lovely about getting the room ready before friends arrive. The cushions are back where they belong, the snacks are out, and you have finally moved the washing off the chair.
A candle is a simple finishing touch.
Our Cashmere & Cocoa Votive Candle has a name that feels made for evenings involving blankets and a second helping of pudding. It is a lovely choice to explore if you are putting together a cosy autumn gift.

For a Halloween evening with a moodier feel, take a look at the Midnight Woods Medium Tin Candle. Even the name brings to mind a woodland walk after dark, preferably followed by getting straight back indoors.
Choose the one that best suits the person or room you are buying for. You can build the seasonal atmosphere around it with warm lamplight, a few pumpkins and your favourite autumn colours.
Make the sofa the best seat in the house
A Halloween film night is an excellent excuse to claim your spot early. Especially if your household includes someone who somehow needs three cushions and most of the blanket.
Our Mushroom Hot Water Bottle fits beautifully into an autumn evening. The mushroom theme brings a little woodland character to your cosy setup, and it is a useful gift for someone who is permanently announcing that they are freezing.
Pair it with their favourite biscuits and a handwritten invitation to a film night. It feels personal, takes very little organising and gives you both something to look forward to.
There is also our Highland Cow Hot Water Bottle for anyone with a soft spot for these lovely animals.
Follow the supplied filling and care instructions, get the blankets ready and agree on the film before everyone sits down. Otherwise, you may spend the entire evening watching trailers.
We have all been there….
Keep the party going with Herd Mentality
Once everyone has warmed up with a game, it is surprisingly easy to turn “one quick round” into the rest of the evening.
Herd Mentality is a good choice for a Halloween get-together with friends or family. The aim is to give the same answers as other players, while the person with the odd answer risks being landed with the pink cow.
It gives you plenty of opportunity to discover that people you thought you knew very well have some rather unexpected opinions.
We would set this up after the food, with drinks within reach and enough room for everyone to join in comfortably. Fancy dress is entirely optional, although watching someone dressed as a vampire defend their answer does add something.
Plan a Halloween evening you will actually enjoy
It is easy to get carried away looking at elaborate Halloween tables and perfectly decorated houses. Then you remember that you have work, a food shop to do and a pumpkin you still have not carved.
Keep your plans manageable.
Pick one main activity and build your evening around it. A games night needs somewhere comfortable to sit, something easy to eat and a game everyone is happy to try. A film night needs a film, snacks and an agreement about who gets the good blanket.
If you fancy decorating, concentrate on one area. A small display on a sideboard or coffee table (with an added Miffy) can bring the season into the room without taking over the house.
And if the pumpkin carving goes slightly wrong, call it an original design. Nobody needs to know what it was supposed to be.
