Best Miffy Gifts for New Babies: A UK Gift Guide
There are some gifts you just can’t go wrong with for new babies.
And, in our (slightly biased) opinion, Miffy is one of them.
She’s cute, instantly recognisable and, unlike that adorable newborn outfit you bought, she won’t be outgrown within about three weeks!
So, whether you’ve got a baby shower coming up, you’re off to meet a new arrival or you just need an excuse to buy another Miffy, here are a few of our favourites.
The Best Miffy Gifts For A Newborn
Let’s start with a classic.
Our Miffy Corduroy White 23cm is a great choice if you don’t know the baby’s gender, or you’re buying something before they’ve arrived.

The off-white colour works with pretty much any nursery and we LOVE the corduroy finish. It makes Miffy feel that little bit different while keeping the simple design everyone knows her for.
She’s 23cm tall too, which we reckon is a really nice size for gifting. Big enough to feel like a proper present, but not so enormous that the parents need to rearrange the nursery to fit her in!
Also, new baby gifts don’t all need to be cream, grey and pastel.
If the parents like a bit of colour, the Miffy Corduroy Cobalt Blue 23cm is a VERY good-looking Miffy.

That bright blue makes her stand out, particularly if you know the nursery is going to be colourful.
She’s handmade by Bon Ton Toys and filled with 100% recycled polyester, too.
Which colour Miffy should you choose for a new baby?
This is probably the hardest bit.
There are so many different Miffy colours now that you can easily spend far too long deciding between them. We speak from experience.
If you’re not sure, white or another neutral shade is always a safe bet.
But there’s no reason you need to stick to traditional baby colours. Pick one you think the parents will actually like. Blue, pink, yellow, green, cream… there are no rules here.
Apart from choosing Miffy, obviously.
Is Miffy a good baby shower gift?
We think so.
Buying for a baby shower can be surprisingly difficult, particularly when you don’t know what the parents have already bought.
They might have enough babygrows.
They probably have enough blankets.
And there’s only so much practical baby stuff one family can unwrap in an afternoon.
A Miffy feels a little different. It can sit in the nursery before the baby arrives and hopefully become something they keep as they get older.
If you’re buying before the big arrival, we’d probably go for something neutral like the Miffy Corduroy White.
Make your own new baby gift bundle
Want to make a bit more of it?
Use Miffy as the main present and build a little hamper around her.
You could add a blanket, some baby essentials, something nice for the parents and maybe a few snacks to get them through those first sleepless nights.
Pop everything together in a basket or gift bag and you’ve got something that feels much more personal than grabbing a ready-made hamper.
Plus, Miffy gets pride of place in the middle.
As she should.
A new baby gift they can actually keep
This is one of the reasons we like Miffy so much for new babies.
Clothes are lovely, but babies have an annoying habit of growing.
Quickly!
A soft toy doesn’t have the same expiry date. Miffy can start out sitting on a nursery shelf and hopefully stick around long after the newborn stage is over.
Miffy herself has been around since 1955, so there’s a decent chance Mum, Dad or even the grandparents will have grown up knowing her, too.
That makes her a nice little link between generations.
What size Miffy should you buy for a newborn?
Personally, we think the 23cm Miffys hit the sweet spot for a new baby present.
They’re substantial enough that you don’t feel like you’ve turned up with something tiny, while still being easy to find a home for.
One tip if you’re ordering online: check the measurements.
It sounds obvious, but soft toys can look VERY different in photographs.
What about something for Mum or Dad?
The baby is going to get plenty of attention.
So you could always sneak something small into the present for the new parents too.
If they’re already Miffy fans, the Miffy Flat Corduroy Keyring in Buttercream is a lovely little extra. Stick it on their keys, bag or changing bag and Miffy can come along for the ride.

Or there’s the fluffy Miffy Tiny Teddy Recycled Keyring in Pink.

Although there’s a reasonable chance they’ll end up buying more once you’ve started them off.
We take no responsibility for this!
